We've set up this blog so that you can all help us with ideas for the wedding and party. We have some of the major things sorted (place and time of wedding and reception) and we know we want it to be an informal do - our favourite people, good food and plenty of laughter. Apart from that we're looking for suggestions and ideas of how to make it a celebration to enjoy and remember.
We'll consider anything - no ideas too small or too wild - and we'll cherry pick our favourites to create a fab event that's inspired by friends and family
This is where we're getting married..

We've already had some great suggestions for transport (a VW camper!) and wedding music...............so please get blogging by posting your comments and ideas below or adding links to sites on the internet that you think we'd like.
If you have trouble with the site then you could use
our email address: allieandrog@gmail.com
The chances are that if you're reading this, then you've probably received an invitation.
A HUGE thank you goes to Paul (partner of Roger's neice Jodes) for putting the design together. We think they're pretty fab and we hope you do too.
Paul's a very clever chap when it comes to this sort of thing so please take a look at his website http://www.paulatchison.co.uk/
If you move your cursor over various parts of the invitation, you'll find there are links that will help you with things like car parking on the big day etc.. Have a play!
But just in case...we've put some information together below, that might be useful for you.
Once again Paul....thank you.
SOME HELP FOR THE DAY:
Car Parks ; The registry office is in the very centre of Ashbourne, on one side of market square on the Buxton Rd heading north. There are a few car parks, but it can be quite busy with tourists and people Saturday shopping so allow time to park up and walk to the venue. The nearest and biggest is behind Waitrose, but it does get busy!. Here's a map of some car parks in Ashbourne:
and a useful weblink for parking:
If people let us know where they are staying we may be able to help in arranging taxis/shared cars or even a mini bus - we'll see nearer the time.
Travel Times; you may find the following useful:
Ashbourne to Hulland
Ward – 1 road – 12 min drive
Hulland Ward to
Belper – similar easy drive – under 20 mins
Hulland Ward to

And on the subject of presents....
A couple of people have asked us about wedding presents. We're not presuming anything here... BUT if that was something on your mind, here are our thoughts. First of all, thank you! Secondly, as you might have guessed, we don't have a pressing need for toasters, bed linen and china..
However we do have some shared interests and they are...a love of Gardening and Art and so it would be fab if we could pool any contributions anyone might like to make so we can buy something like some fruit trees, some garden furniture, or a meaningful painting
But if you do want to buy us a toaster.....then thank you.
Hi Allie and Uncle Rog, Chris has offered to do your wedding photography if you like? That's if you haven't already got something sorted. Em xx
ReplyDeleteWoh, that's so kind - we'd love Chris to do photos if he's up for it. The one's he did at Aunty Eth's were just lovely and exactly the sort of thing we'd like - informal and capturing people having fun. Thank you thank you thank you so much xxxx
DeleteHi Em and Chris
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful. Thank you
Make sure you capture the first time bridesmaid!!
Unc Rog
Hi to you both
ReplyDeleteHappy to make your cake. I guess you might have others offering the same so I wont be offended if you chose someone else. An alternative could be a 3 tier made by three of us ???????

Congratulations you two. Fab blog! Made me feel like a Luddite as I needed help to find where to post a reply.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about doing the Irish thing where you open the floor up to speeches and comments from friends/family after the main ones? Always heartfelt, often hilarious!
PS I can do table decos if you tell me a colour/theme/flower to use?
Heth xx
Hi both, Hebe recently went to an 18th birthday party where they had a photo booth, complete with a range of accessories (hats, jewelry, funny stuff) and everyone had great fun all evening having pics taken which they could then take home with them. I've no idea how much it would cost, but might be a nice way for people to go home with a memento from the day? You could have fun thinking up some accessories.
